"I have been with MVYSO for my entire musical career. I started cello when I was 9 years old, back when there was a Beginning Strings Program. It has been a big part of my life and has impacted me more than I can describe. The wonderful coaches, directors and volunteers all add to the true MVYSO environment. The friends and memories I have made will forever be cherished."
~ Emma Andrew, Class of 2020
The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is a music program that is deeply rooted in community. We provide a unique music education experience where students can excel musically, connect socially, and grow personally.

OUR MISSION

OUR PHILOSOPHY

As the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, we will enlighten the minds of young musicians, embrace creativity, achieve excellence, nurture talents, and give back to the community. Throughout this experience, we will encourage a strong sense of responsibility and commitment in a fun and safe environment. - Written by MVYSO Students.
The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra is committed to making music education an accessible and healthy part of every interested student's life. We believe in helping the student balance musical, social, and personal growth. We believe that involvement in music education teaches valuable and marketable life skills. Our goal is that our programs make a positive difference in the lives of each of our participants.

WHO WE ARE

REQUEST A PERFORMANCE

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra boasts several small groups that perform for events in our community.  In addition, our Full Symphony Orchestra plays at large community events.  Because of the cost involved in preparing our students for these performances, we have a suggested minimum donation for community performances.  If you have any questions about booking an MVYSO performance, please email our office at office.mvyso@gmail.com.
NONDISCRIMINATION POLICY

We believe that music is a gift that can be shared by everyone and that transcends boundaries and barriers and brings people together. We believe that each student, family and audience member can enhance our life experiences with their unique life experiences and backgrounds. As such:

It shall be the policy of this organization that no person will be subjected to unlawful discrimination based on race, color, gender, religion, marital status, national or ethnic origin, the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability, or any other basis prohibited by law so long as the student or employee is able to perform at minimal skill level as required by MVYSO.

Our Pledge:
We pledge to treat every student, family member and audience member as the valuable and unique individual that they are. We pledge to treat everyone with love and respect and seek to understand how everyone's unique experiences can contribute to the experience at MVYSO. We pledge to create opportunities for students to succeed, connect and grow in a safe and fun environment. We pledge to create music experiences that lead our students, families and audience to love music and love being together.

Music can change the world because it can change people. ~Bono
